Showtime

Without a doubt, these past couple weeks have been some of the most stressful ones when it comes to ISM, and this week won't exactly be a walk in the park considering showcase is in just a few days and there's still so much work left to do. However, with my mentor secured and my original work starting to get going, I feel that I can handle whatever is left to do without having a complete breakdown, for now.

As much as I wish I could say that I have become a pro at planning and prioritizing, I still have a long way to go before I learn how not to overload myself at times. Just today, I completely forgot about a phone interview that I had, and I really need to get better at making sure all of my deadlines are met. As for showcase, I am both nervous and excited to get the show started, but all the little things I have to do here and there will take time and focus to finish, and I want to make sure that the event runs perfectly.

Furthermore, showcase entails an opportunity for me to finally let people know what I've been doing this year, including my friends and family. I hope people will be able to understand the true value of the ISM program, and I'm sure that by effectively showcasing my research, I can meet this goal.

This week is going to be a tough one. Still, I know that by the end of the week I'll be looking back and wondering why I was stressed at all. We have quite a ways to go in ISM, but it sure will feel nice to take a second at showcase and brag about all the amazing opportunities I've gotten this year.
